Anjuna Beach

Welcome to one of the most exotic beaches in Goa – the Anjuna Beach! Goa’s Anjuna beach is popularly known as the freak capital of the world! The Village of Anjuna in Goa is a five square mile enclosure cocooned between the Arabian Sea and the Hill facing the beach. The Anjuna beach in Goa is famous for its soft warm sands, swaying palms and outstanding natural beauty.
The beach possesses a strange type of rock formation that overlies a cove of white sand and black rock that protrudes into the Arabian Sea. This area is the popular area called as the Jewel of Anjuna or “Ozran”. The Anjuna beach became popular for its Trance Parties and the Hippies who attempted to combine the music, art and ideas of the West, and the spiritual traditions of the East. Anjuna beach holiday is just the right place for lazy holidaymakers who crave for leisure and fun! As the calm sapphire waves of the Sea softly laps on the beach and wipes your feet, the gentle breeze whispers the love spells in your ears! The beach comes alive with its ever-famous full-moon trance parties and the vibrant and colorful Wednesday flea market.

The prime attractions of Anjuna beach are the striking Albuquerque Mansion (built in 1920), the Chapora Fort, Mascarenhas Mansion, the Acid House Party, and the Wednesday flea market. Every Wednesday, Anjuna breaks into a riot of colors at around 11 am. There is everything in this market that one needs, right from a used paperback to Kashmiri, Tibetan and Gujarati trinkets. The most exciting event in Anjuna beach is the full-moon or the acid house parties. Held by and for young tourists, these parties attract tons of tourists who simply love to dance, frolic and make merriment throughout the night sitting by the fire and the wild sea roaring behind!
