Candolim Beach

Candolim beach is a quiet stretch of sandy beach, filled with scrub-covered sand dunes on one side and the turquoise blue waters of the Arabian Sea, on the other. Lying north of Fort Aguada, a Portuguese fort built in 1612, Candolim beach is a favorite with those who want to escape the crowd and the commercialization of Anjuna and Calangute beach. The Calangute beach is one of the busiest commercial centers of Goa, lying right next to the Candolim beach. With the village center being apparently missing at Candolim beach, the latter becomes a quiet haven for those looking for solitude by the Sea. At the same time, there are many opportunities for the more adventurous visitors, who are looking for adventure sports. Thus, there is something for every body at the Candolim beach. Whether solitude or adventure you seek!
Candolim beach is easily connected with all major places of Goa. There are regular buses from Calangute and Mapusa to Candolim beach, while on the way back one can hire a taxi, offering a ride to any place in Goa at a fixed price. There are to and fro buses from Panaji as well, with a bus stand located at Casa Sea Shell in Candolim beach. Other options include hiring motorcycles and auto rickshaws as well. Once you are in Candolim beach, there are some good inns and guest houses on the beach, ranging from five and four starred resorts to budget hotels in Candolim beach. Some of these include Phoenix Park Inn Resort, Aldeia Santa Rita Resort, Whispering Palm Beach Resort, Highland Beach Resort, Victor Exotica Beach Resort, Casablanca Beach Resort, Lui Beach Resort, Dom Francisco Resort, Sodder’s Beach Classic, Alor Grand Resort and Hotel Perola Do Mar, among others.

There are ample number of shacks offering local cuisine on the beach. One of the most popular activities on the Candolim beach, besides swimming and sun-bathing, is boating cruises, which offer the best sunset views on the beach. The latter is a memorable experience and is not to be missed! For the sports enthusiasts, there is also the option of para-sailing, water skiing and surfing, among others. One of the ideal beaches of India which has something to offer for every visitor!
