Majorda Beach

Majorda beach, known for its picturesque beauty, offers to its visitors some of the most spectacular views of the Arabian Sea. The combination of white sand, the sea and the sky could not be more spectacular, as it is in Majorda beach. All you get is the constant hum of the waves, lapping at your feet, and the hush of the trees and chirping birds. It could not get quieter and more tranquil than this! What makes Majorda beach so special is the fact that it offers the perfect getaway from not only the hustle bustle of the city life, but escape from the other crowded beaches of Goa, as well. Located south of Bogmalo, the beach is accessible from most of the major destinations in Goa. Local history boasts of Majorda being the place where Lord Ram was brought up, according to a Goan version of the epic of Ramayana.
Besides being strewn with some of the most beautiful shells and the soft sand, Majorda beach is also popular for its local cultural history. Majorda is known all over the world for some of the best home-grown European breads. It is believed that Majorda is the first place to discover toddy and consequently, the first to discover the unique style of baking. Moreover, it offers to its tourists a wide range of delicacies, from Chinese Schezhuan to steaks. The natural beauty of the beach has encouraged a wide variety of places to stay in Majorda beach. While there is the Majorca Beach Resort on one end, encompassing a 29 kilometers stretch of beach in its complex, there are also other medium-ranged and budget hotels, each to suit your pocket and duration of stay. The beach is therefore equipped with all the modern facilities to suit the needs of the both international and domestic traveler.

It is easy getting to Majorda beach. While it is connected with Margo by buses, taxis, motorcycle taxis, you can also come to Majorda beach via the Colva beach, which is situated some 8 kilometers away. All in all, Majorda beach is bound to enchant you and your loved ones and is the ideal place for those looking for solitude by the sea!
