The Church of St. Alex is old historical church as old as Villa Park. This church was considered as the first Catholic Church in town which was established in the year 1924 for serving about 179 Catholic families. The church was named after St. Alexander I who was a Pope and a martyr. The church was taken care by Rev. Henry F. Kennedy, Pastor. Since the day of its establishment, The Church of St. Alex organized many mass prayers; its First Mass was celebrated in the Wooden Ark, the temporary church, on the feast of the Immaculate Conception, 1924. The present location where the church exists was made breaking the ground in 1953 and the first mass was celebrated on august 15, 1954.

The present hall and the Parish Center in The Church of St. Alex were added in 1959. The church also started holding classes when in 1925; the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur of Cincinnati came to teach here. They arrived in the church in the month of September and taught about 56 children from class 1 to 6. Classes were started being held Wooden Ark until the new school was completed in December of that year. The Church of St. Alex, was a twelve room building with six classrooms, one auditorium and residential quarters and one chapel for the sisters. The new convent of The Church of St. Alex, was occupied in the year 1957. In the church pr4emises different scouts group was also added. The Girl Scouts begin in 1929 and Boy Scouts in 1936, while Brownies and Cub Scouts were added in 1949. School sports programs were formalized in 1956.
In present times the parishioners are involved in about 50 organizations and ministers actively working at The Church of St. Alex.
