Goa Climate

Goa, situated in the tropical zone and near the Arabian sea has a warm and humid climate for the most of the year. Goa Climate is a typical temperate climate. May is the hottest month in Goa with a temperture of over 35°C and is coupled with high humidity. The monsoon rain arrives by early June. The rain provides the much desired respite from the heat. Most of the Goa receives annual rainfall through this monsoon which lasts till September. The Goa Climate also include a short cool season that lies between mid-December and February. These months are marked by cool nights of around 20°C and warm days of temperature around 29°C. The humidity remains moderate during this time.
Usually the Goa Climate is temperate, except the monsoon. Because of the coastal Konkan region and the baskdrop of Western ghat the weather of Goa remains pleasant and sunny. The climate of Goa is devoid of any extremes and there is no clear demarcation from one season to the other except for the monsoon. The average temperate varies between 25°C to 30°C. The average rainfall in Goa is approximately 325cms. The sunshines for about nine to ten hours in summer and three to five hours during monsoon.

The main feature of Goan Climate is the monsoon. Goa is located in the course southwest monsoon. It thus experiences a dry period that lasts for six to eight months of the year followed by the annual rainfall which occurs for the remaining four months. During the two months preceding the onset of monsoon the humidity dramatically increases and the sky becomes clody and hazy. Once the monsoon is over, the sky becomes clar again and the weather become pleasant. For four to five months from October to February, the Goa Climate is near perfect-cloudless blue skies warm but not oppresively hot days.
