Panaji, the capital city of Goa is referred to as Panjim in Portuguese and is located in the northern region of this Indian state. This third largest city of Goa lies on the banks of the Mandovi estuary. It encompasses an area of 36 km2 and more than 65,000 local inhabitants. Presently, the mayor of Panaji is Tony Rodrigues.
